Grass seed does not readily die without water. It just doesn't grow. If you haven't been diligently watering seed, it's not too late! Just get started & keep going.

  • Crabgrass is impressively prolific. Before it dies, it produces thousands of seeds, which spread far and wide. The seed remains viable for 50 years! This is why you need to prevent crabgrass every year.
 
  • Grass seed needs consistent water to germinate quickly. When it dries out, it simply stops growing. Any seeded areas of your lawn should be watered daily.
 
  • It IS possible to over-water a lawn. Excess water can lead to disease development, and actually kill your lawn quicker than if it had dried out.
 
  • Leaves, debris, toys, etc. can easily smother and kill the grass underneath. Please make an effort to keep your yard cleaned
